what would you consider absolutely necessary to take to uni?

mine would be my stereo and my cd's. and a computer.

There's a girl in my mirror
I wonder who she is
Sometimes I think I know her
Sometimes I really wish I did <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/flowerface.gif">

Ditto above plus some weed and plenty of cash for freshers week

Now, have a big toke on this South African drugs-reefer-style spliff doobie.

Having had to live without for the most part for my first few weeks here I would say dishes.

I only had 3 plates when I first got here and a couple of glasses. Obviously I can't afford to eat out every night, and trying to cook with no cooking utensils and trying to eat with very little to eat on was pretty difficult.

Semper ubi sub ubi <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.freakygamers.com/smilies/s/kao/msroom/m-tabako.gif">

Istayed at home, so I guess it wasn't important to me.
But I would take my mobile, TV, DVD player, and my switch card.

In first year, you party hard, but with a lot of folk you'll probably end up REALLY disliking! In second year you need to work soooo hard to keep on top of things, but it's also the year you make you're true friends. Third year you finally get get the overall gist of your degree and start to think like a professional within your disipline. You also have a lot of good parties. And you'll also know who the asses in your class are!

That's how it is for me anyway...most of my friends say the same thing

apart from the obvious stuff, i'd take one of those RSPCA dog things you see sat around in the streets (i'd wait til it was emptied then nick it). saves havin to get a guard dog, and it doesnt leave hair everywhere <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">

listen here lad, i'm in third year and been living away from home for just last year. what you need to bring is personality and a filthy sense of humour. forget about cd's, radio for the moment. the campus gobshite has those and nobody likes him. of course hardwear is essential, but personality and a dirty sense of hunour is whats really required. Ok...

Mr dark night, firstly, with a name like that the ladies will be all over you.
right, first year is the best because your new to the scene, parties, beer etc.
second year, you scraped a pass and decide to take it easy on the drink. but because you had such a good time in first year you'll do it all over again and scrape another pass.
where i am now in third year, i'm not drinking as much or partying as hard, basically because i need over 60% in my finals to do the MA. two scraped passes in first and second year won't do. so third year is more work orientated for me, but thats how i see my college years, i still love the scene though.
Good Luck anyway

Don't know about that, I've been here for more than two years and I still haven't had a shag!
Things to bring: Paper, paper, paper. I've gone through half of Norway in my time at Uni.
Best year? Now I'm in my final year I have vowed to make this the best year yet, as I feel I wasted the first two on hard work (see above) so I have endeavoured to join as many societies as possible. Kids, don't waste your time like me, get the fun stuff out of the way in your first year.

If at first you don't succeed, hit it with a bigger hammer.

An ounce of very strong weed and a sense of hunour, your popularity will soar and you can borrow c.d's, condoms, plates paper........ for ever more !!!!!!!!!!!

drugs may be the road to nowhere, but at least there the scenic route

I've started making a list of stuff I need - like plates and pots and pans and stuff. I don't think I'll take my TV and video because licenses are too expensive.
I'll have to start saving money but I'm hopeless at it.
