Finding old friends

So over the years I fell out of touch with a number of friends (especially when I moved to Scotland) some from either High school or college and even some online friends

Some I've tracked down easily, especially with Facebook so no problems there, however there are 4 or 5 that I am having trouble tracking, the E-mail addresses I have are years (8 plus years) out of date and I can't seem to find us having friends in common. One of these people was actually a very very good friend so I am just curious to see how they're doing.

Any tips on this people? I've done the usual searches via social networking, old e-mail addresses etc.

Classified ad? You sometimes see them in Metro e.t.c.

Otherwise, telephone directories, electoral roll to see if they've moved, visiting their last known address to see if they're still there. There are lots of "offline" ways to find people, I'd start there.

Also, try different social media websites like LinkedIn.
