Our friends over at Women’s Aid are currently recruiting for young people to volunteer their time and experience in becoming members of a new and exciting Young People’s Advisory Panel (YPAP).

This is for young people who have experienced domestic violence either at home or in their own relationships, or are linked with a specialist organisation supporting young people and want to make a difference through campaigns, services and policies.

The ideal applicant should also have links to a group or network of young people whereby views and consultations can be obtained.

Women's Aid are very excited about setting up this new advisory panel and the young people involved will have a lot of great projects to work on.

I've attached some more info about the panel as well as the application from.

They're looking for young people with some of the following qualities:
  • Ability to communicate with others
  • Ability to listen to others
  • Ability to receive feedback (positive and negative)

As well as:
  • Willing to learn
  • Committed to helping other young people
  • Prepared to participate in projects and meetings
  • Work well with others
  • Motivated
  • Responsible
  • Good sense of humour
  • Have strong empathy for others
  • Be self aware
  • Good time-keeping

If you're interested you can also get in touch via T.Nguyen@womensaid.org.uk with any questions. Otherwise, just fill out the application form and email it over.

Do you have to apply by a particular date?

I've just double-checked and they've extended the deadline as we only posted the opportunity up recently.

Applications need to be in by midnight on Friday 18th October with informal interviews planned for the following week :thumb:
