London Careers in Tech Event - Thursday 17th October

The tech world is an exciting place which can provide countless opportunities for today's young people, including jobs in social media, web design design and app creation. We'd like to invite you to join us on Thursday 17 October at 4:30pm to find out how you can take advantage of these opportunities through a career in tech. The Forward Foundation was founded by technology pros Forward Internet Group, who will be hosting the event and giving expert insights into a range of tech careers at their offices in Camden.

Focus of the Workshop

There are around 1 million unemployed young people in the UK yet 27,000 unfilled digital jobs. Young people have a better understanding of tech than anyone, but might not be aware of the different jobs that exist in the tech world. This workshop will provide you with expert insights into different careers in technology, which ones will suit you and how to access them.

Format

You will hear from experts in a range of tech careers and then get a chance to speak to them one on one, ask questions and get personalised advice.

What you will come away with

By the end of the workshop you'll have
•an understanding of the different careers that exist in the tech world
•an idea of which tech jobs are suited to you
•a plan for what you can do to get a career in tech

Who should attend

This workshop is aimed at young people (aged 16 - 24) who are interested in the world of technology and want to find out more about tech careers. It's also great for people who don't quite know what they want to do but spend a lot of time on their laptop or smart phone!

If you are an individual who would like to come please let us know, and if you are from a school or organisation please tell us how many young people you will be bringing with you (you can bring up to 20).
