How to jump mandatory 'notice-period' in my job?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I have a contract job which requires 3months notice period b4 I leave it. But they have neither kept any money nor my cetificates as 'security'. I want to leave my job in first week of April, whenever my March month's salary is in my hands. What is best method to jump this notice period. Any home-work you suggest to be on safe side of law too?

What country are you in? Regional variations will apply.
In general, you can leave any job by resigning "with immediate effect", but don't expect a good reference, or any holiday pay etc..
Keep in mind, also, that if you leave after getting paid and your pay includes time you haven't worked, they may want to recover that cash. You can leave the job, but you can't rip people off.
