Hi everyone

This thread is the place to look if you're wondering where we're up to in Book Club and how to get involved; we realised that all the individual threads each month were getting a bit hard to keep track of!

So, every month as usual we will post the nominations and the poll separately, but the result will be added here with the dates of discussion on the boards and chat. Hopefully this will keep things a bit easier. I'll also keep track of the titles we've already read, so that we don't repeat ourselves :)

You will also find Book Club as a group, click here to join.

Book club choices and themes:

Does anyone have any theme suggestions? We only have one a month, so I'm pretty sure we won't get through all our ideas, but I'd like to hear them :)

Planned themes at the moment are film-of-the-book (adaptations) joint with Film Club, Japanese fiction, graphic novels.

    Randomgirl suggested this:

You could do a cats theme - I have read lots of books about cats. Like A Street Cat Called Bob (very interesting story of a homeless man and his cat), Dewey (only time I've cried reading a book - and I was on an aeroplane crying my eyes out so it was pretty embarassing), The Larry Diaries (very interesting political commentary on the current government), and more novelty books.

So the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed a new development on TS boards; under the "Community" tab there is now a link to groups.

View the group here, then you can click on the little cog on the top right and click "join group".

You should be able to join in with the discussion on Maus once you've joined the group.

If you find that inaccessible, do let us know here :)

Click here (you'll have to join the group if you haven't yet, and then when you want to check on the thread you can either go to Community -> Groups -> Book Club, or What's New? -> New Group Messages.
