    I have been working on this all year - completing most of it, then undoing it all and starting over. Finally finished a version I like last night! My most proud moment is it is pattern free - I created it myself :D It is a gift for my brother. Luckily enough, his birthday is tomorrow!

    Today I finished this knitting needle roll for my DPNs:

    I knit the lace panel which I started a year ago, it was meant to be the back of a top but I put on three stone this year so it wouldn't have fitted me so I decided to make it into a needle roll. I bought the fabric plus some wadding and a ribbon, I used my mum's sewing machine. I don't sew so I'm well pleased with the result.

    I have knit in 2012 -

    14 scarves
    6 pairs of socks
    2 pairs of baby booties
    5 adult hats
    3 hats for cats
    4 cowls
    3 snoods
    1 tea cosy
    1 yarn storming contribution for my knitting group to cover a tree with
    1 cushion
    1 kitten
    1 knitting needle roll
    and of course 1 man thong.

    I also painted many paintings, drew several drawings in oil pastels, did lots of collages using mixed media (acrylic paints / oil pastels / buttons / yarn / glue / glitter etc).

    Pretty good considering 2012 was my worst year healthwise ever.

    I have been shit this year. Thought I'd get loads done when I was broken but lying down with your leg elevated is really uncomfortable as a knitting/sewing position, and the painkillers knocked me out.

    I feel like I've achieved very little. Ah well, I'll keep trying!
