Embarassing Problem

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
From about 5 weeks ago I started to 'let off gas':( every afternoon when working.
I don't understand why I'm doing it. I haven't changed my diet.

I want it to stop!!!

If it's not due to the kinds of food you are eating, it could be due to swallowing air when you eat - perhaps you are eating hurriedly, or maybe talking a lot when eating?

Do you chew gum? Which can cause excess wind.

If you think it might be that, try eating more slowly and keeping your mouth closed when chewing. Try not to move around too soon after eating, and try drinking more water at meal times. If you can take a few minutes to walk around when it starts, in a place where you can release the wind without embarrassment, that might help.

Anxiety, worry, etc can also cause stomach issues, including excess wind.

If none of the above works, ask your pharmacist about off-the-shelf products for settling wind. Peppermint tea sometimes helps.

Also, think about what you're drinking - if it's carbonated it might be affecting you - I was always really bad with gas because I drank a lot of fizzy water and when I changed to still that helped.

I don't chew gum. Never have, never will.

I don't have my mouth open when chewing. I think its disgusting!!!!!

Anxiety/worry...Hmm. I am wondering about these two words. I'm trying to get involved in photography and I'm fed up being single. Maybe this is a couple of reasons why I have the problem....I don't know:confused:

I never drink 'carbonated' drinks. My stomach doesn't agree with them.

Chemicals? No I work in a choc factory.

Stressed? YES. I hate working in that sh!thole. But now I'm wanting to have a career in landscape and portrait photography. I'm trying to find a course for landscapes and models for portraits.

    I'm also stressed that I don't have a girlfriend.
