Does anyone have an idea as to what mattress is right or what i should avoid?

I need one fairly supportive of my back as i have back problems, otherwise i'm not too fussy.

I just don't understand all the different types!

Which? are great people to turn to, and here is their article Which? Guide to choosing the best mattress

Personally, I recommend trying as many as possible, and in the position you sleep in. Take a pillow, don't be shy, they can be an expensive long term purchase and the right one really matters.

Yes, get the cheapest there is, that is not absolute trash. I have a 50€ mattress and I love it and if it should be damaged I have no problem replacing it. 400€ mattress and all this shit is a ripoff. I don't have an elastic lath floor either (solid one) and I sleep like a young god.
