freezing chocolate brownies

I've just made three batches of chocolate brownies using those small-ish foil trays. I want to freeze two of the batches to stop my boyfriend guzzling it all straight away. Even if it is for his birthday.
I guess I can just freeze it straight in the aluminium trays with a lid on top? Now the really thick bit- when we want to eat it, do we defrost and then put in the oven? or straight from frozen into the oven? Or microwave? I dont want to ruin the gooeyness.
