Ok, sort of moving away from the football team threads and stuff :P
But has anyone done Kickboxing before? If so what do you exactly do and what is it like? I was told to do kickboxing as a distraction and a way to vent. I wasn't going to look into it, but I saw a few things and it looks quite fun, any more information?

I have being doing kickboxing for about a year now and love it. I was a bit scared the first few times but at the one I go to there are new people trying it out every week so it was fine. In my class we do some warm up exercies, then do some cardio work (practicing punches and kicks with a partner) then for the last bit we do a bit of sparring, where we have to try out the combinations we practiced against some of the experienced guys (basically just try and hit them). All in all I find it a great workout, and the ability to defend myself a bit was certainly useful when a chav was trying to pick a fight with my brother last year! I def recommend it.

I think its great for fitness, I'm sure I've gotten a lot fitter learning to bounce on my feet and get some power in to my punches. I think learning to kick properly has increased my flexibility around the hip and taught me a lot about how the leg muscles work
