Any tips for packing a glass bottle in my suitcase when flying without it breaking?

Put it in a bag of clothes inside your suitcase ie. underwear or laundry

Would that be enough, you think? I think they're not being very gentle with the suitcases in airports.

I flew with a 330ml sized glass bottle in the hold. I wrapped it in clothes and put it in the middle of my backpack. It survived even though backpacks aren't exactly sturdy! Guess it depends how they handle the luggage though really- think backpacks go on the top of the pile as they don't stack as well as suitcases.

Just don't forget to put it in a sealable bag in case it smashes.

Where do I find these? And if it happens, won't the glass cut the bag anyway?

Depends on the kind of bag you use and how big. Because in the past I've packed them in bags (that you can just dispose of) but with the bottle wrapped in a spare towel inside the bag. So if it smashes, it absorbs the liquid and the bag is intact. The bag is only used to stop extra leaking.

As long as your suitcase is hard and it's in the middle of clothes in the bag it should be all right.
