How do I reference a PDF file, please? Is it just title, author and date?

In an academic sense? Anything found online is cited like any other article (Author. Date. Title.) but with the full URL and the date of retrieval included after the normal citation.

PDF is a file format - not a type of document, so you reference it in the same way you would whatever is in the file. If it's an article, you reference it like an article. If it's a book, like you would a book. If it's random web page stuff you've found online, like you would a web page.
