  True but unless it was the only job advert I'd seen in a month or something I doubt I would bother to take the time to fill in an application for so few hours when I could be applying for jobs with more hours.

  Is it better to have a 6hr a week job whilst you are looking for work, then having no job at all?

  I'm not saying that my attitude is the right one, I'm just saying I doubt I would be bothered to take the time to fill in an application or travel to an interview for the sake of six hours. Incidentally the number of applicants my boss received for this position is pretty low, especially considering how many people are out of work these days.
