well, i saw the post about the power of music etc by someone else (sorry, can't remember who right now!) and it got me thinking..

so i decided, out of curiosity to make this post,

when your feeling low, do you have certain music that you will stick on??

For me, if im feeling incredibly low, i listen to a band, Seether.
But to cheer myself up, i have a playlist on my phone of songs which.. more inspire me to keep on fighting.

Perfect - P!nk
Behind these hazel eyes - kelly clarkson
breakaway - kelly clarkson
the cave - mumford & sons
we cry - the script
keep holding on - avril lavigne
the magicians assistant - dan le sac vs. scroobius pip.

the last one i find incredibly inspiring, although a bit.."in your face"
i will post a link, but be warned, it could be very triggering. x

I think you'll find it was me :) lol

when I feel low I tend to stick to ska, never really fails to put a smile on my face
I think specifically it would be:
Less Than Jake-Soundtrack of my life
Sonic Boom Six-Monkey See Monkey Do
    Reel Big Fish-Take On Me
    Lightyear-Uri Geller Bent My Heart
    Mighty Mighty Bossstones-Another Drinking Song

But Ska in general when I'm feeling low :)

If I'm feeling crappy, and don't really want to cheer up... I listen to Rufus Wainwright, MCR (Specifically: I bought you bullets, your brought me your love) and Nirvana unplugged.

If I want to cheer up, then The King Blues, Pink, pretty much anything from Tony Hawks Underground 2 soundtrack (so, stuff like Less than jake, Rancid, The suicide machines) and Lady gaga :d

When I'm down I like either ska (if I want to cheer up) or stuff like Three Days Grace, MCR- I'm Not Okay, Linkin Park, Art of Dying if I'm not feeling like I want to be happy. Basically that kind of genera.

I thought you were talking about real Ska or at least Two Tone.
That's not Ska, this is Ska :D

depends what i feel like. I do like to go back to the late 90s and early 2000s and bands with stuff like:
Alisha rules the world - Alisha's attic
Flavor of the week - American Hi Fi
One Armed Scissor - At The Drive In
    Mulder and Scully - Catatonia
    Tequila - Terravision
On A Rope - Rocket from the Crypt
    Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen)
When I Argue, I see Shapes - Idlewild
    October Swimmer- JJ72
The Law - King Adora (<3)

Forgot to add Lightyear. OMG- best uk skapunk band, saw them a fair few times live, got on stage for 'spotcheck' :D

    and then the rock/pop/punk stuffs:
    A - Nothing
    Jimmy Eat World -Bleed American
    Pixies- where is my mind?
New Found Glory- Hit or Miss
    Something Corporate - If U C Jordan
    Ataris - iou one galaxy

    and the skapunk!!!
[spunge] - kicking pigeons and Ego
    Sublime -what i got
Less Than Jake - Johnny Quest thinks we're sellouts
Reel Big Fish - She has a girlfriend now
Jesse James - Shoes (best lyrics ever!)

Ska evolved from reggae. Most people would consider it ska. Then you have 2 Tone Ska like the Specials and Bad Manners - which is also pretty good. Ska Punk not so much though - lost a bit of the soul of the original Ska.

What gets me happy is a bit of hardcore. Makes me nostaligic from me school days. I knows it's cheese but it was from a time when I was carefree.

Can't beat the only and only anthem Force & Styles - Heat Of Gold
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBQmV2zZK5o

Makes me well up with happy memories. Hardcore you the score.
