Mephedrone

Just going to post my observations on the drug, and i've done my research into this drug too, but i'd like to hear other peoples opinions and such.

I started this drug, because of the feeling weed creates when you're high (Yes you're all thinking, WHAT?). I'll explain, i love my music, and being with friends. And i smoke weed with most of them, and listen to music we all really enjoy and such. Weed used to make music feel really intense and amazing, but not euphoric, and i tried bubble to see what it would do, and it was insane! The euphoria was encredible, listening to even the most boring songs sounded great and the best songs were just ear orgasms. It made me feel socially amazing, i'd take to my friends for hours, i'd feel confident and great. The stuff i get is as pure as the days it was legal, the guy i get it from doesn't believe in crap drugs, and wont sell anything bellow the best. It's clean, and easy to take, it's soft on the nose and tasty to bomb.

I'm wondering is what are the long term side effects, if any are known yet? And any other bad side effects that this may induce.

The only issue i've had from it, when i first took it, i couldn't eat for a day or two. I just didn't feel hungry at all, and i couldn't even force food down. Even liquid food didn't work, somehow my mind just knew it was food. But i could drink, and was practically on the '28 days later' diet of fizzy drinks and chocolate. But i've not experience this problem is months.

My average intake, is about 2 or 3 grammes a month, but normally on just one weekend on a friday or saturday night. I never really experience a comedown.

Is there anything i should watch for apart from addiction?

In short no one knows what long term effects there are especially when used nasally. The effects are likely to be similar to amphetamine so the harms are going to be from the stimulant effect (wear and tear on the heart, lungs etc.) and possible addiction. As you are using it to socialise there is also the mental health aspect, you may not use every day but may become dependant on the confidence of it to 'be at your best'. Be careful.

    Hi Fuuubar

Mephedrone has been all over the news lately as its been (controversially) linked to the deaths of several people, leading to it being made illegal a few months ago.

Budda's comments are spot-on. Some other stuff you should bear in mind is that:

    * The desire to re-dose can exasperate the negative effects of the drug, including: insomnia, vertigo, overheating, and heart palpitations
    * It can over-stimulate the heart and mess with your blood circulation, causing your fingers to turn an unsightly shade of blue
    * Your nervous system can be over-stimulated, which can lead to fits, agitation, hallucinations, as well as anxious and paranoid thoughts
    * Snorting the drug can cause heavy nosebleeds

You can read more about the side effects on Frank and in one of TheSite's articles.

The bottom line is that there is always a risk when taking illegal and relatively unknown or new substances. However, if you're going to continue using it, you should avoid mixing it with other substances and alcohol (especially cocaine or amphetamines). You should also avoid taking it if you are on antidepressants containing MAOIs

Finally, you're aware that Mephedrone is illegal but you might not be aware that possession can lead to a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison if you're caught.... just something else to take note of!

    Hope this helps!

But so far, the drug has been established as a cause of death in only one case in England, that of John Stirling Smith.

Quite. Much like drug 'problems' much hyped by the press in the past, they never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Indeed, and it'd be beyond them the investigate the positive effect it's had on people with social anxiety disorders (not sure if that's the correct term). Ah well.

funny you say that. I have Social Phobia, and/or Social Anxiety association. And when i'm on a little bit of bubble, i'm talking not enough to get me that high. I feel amazing much better than anything else i've ever had. I used to take it before school and college, and those days would be far better than many. Because even when the drug wore off, i still felt confident. Now i barely have bubble, but i no longer have SP/SAA.

(Bare in mind, i didn't have it that strong, but it changed my life)
