I think with this kind of topic it's not necessarily dead - still fair game for a response. I'll move it to entertainment though. :)

My first CD was an Ocean Colour Scene one - I'm of the mixtape generation :)

Wasn't the thread about MR Roll announcing the first CD released by a friend - not the one you bought...?

    Of course, threads change.

My first CD was Brothers In Arms - Dire Straits.

My first record was Joe Dolce - Shuddap Your Face IIRC

You can google the release dates for both if you want to confirm that I'm old.

my first CD was 'Steps - Steptacular'
I didn't listen to it for years though as I was 5 and I didn't have a CD player

Mine was MJ's Dangerous album in 1992. Dad treated my sister and myself to a CD each because we had good test results in school. So I chose Dangerous and sister chose the Simply Red's Stars album. I didn't get a CD player until 1995. I had 9 A-C GCSEs in summer '95 and my parents bought me a Sony Discman as a reward. By then, I had already bought about 10 CDs, in anticipation.

Now back on topic, I'm going onto that Myspace page :-)

Don't know, actually. I can't remember when I made the transition from tape to CD.

    PJ & DUNCAN - PSYCHE
    Coolio - Gangsters Paradise

I quite liked the 2 guys when they were called PJ & Duncan. Quite upbeat and dancy. When they changed their alias to Ant & Dec though, I thought they became too boyband-ish.
