George W Bush admits approving waterboarding

In a memoir due out Tuesday, Bush makes clear that he personally approved the use of that coercive technique against alleged Sept. 11 plotter Khalid Sheik Mohammed, an admission the human rights experts say could one day have legal consequences for him.

In theory, this could land him in a lot of trouble. In reality, he's as unlikely to face any consequences as the people who approved dropping agent orange all over South-East Asia.

For those who want to see a bit of waterboarding, here is Christopher Hitchens undergoing it. I've seen two people do it now, and it's astonishing how quickly they give up.

In his defence, he might well have thought it was a new kind of watersport.

You are basically underwater though. You can't see when to hold your breath, so your mouth will fill with water quickly, and you can't lean forward or cough.

I mean, can anyone honestly say they're shocked to hear this?
"Bush lied about Iraq having WMDs!"
    Shocking!

"Bush lied about the true motives behind the 9/11 attacks!"
    Inconceivable!

"Bush lied about using water-boarding to torture prisioners!"
    Stunning!

The only people who may be shocked to hear this are the naive fools who allowed themselves to repeatedly vote for Bush.
Oh and btw, no(as much as I would like to see it happen), unfortunately, he probably won't get prosecuted.

He won't be prosecuted, there are rules about an individuals level of intelligence and their responsibility for crimes they have commited I'm afraid.
