I tried to go for school for Photography, but the college screwed me over and now I am doing the way opposite.

I am used to hard criticism about my works, so I can take it!

You've got some really nice pictures there!

The nuts one is great! Brilliant Depth of Field!

The fourth one down, the dog one, doesnt stand out to me at the present moment but with a bit of editing and a slight tweak of the levels it may improve it.

You've definately got talent! Dont give it up even if the college arent helpign you!

I don't intend to say that you are a bad photgrapher, but those pictures look like typical "stock photo material" to me. Things you'd expect in your "My picture folder" when you install the new windows for the first time. They are not bad, but they are lacking creativity in my opinion and just get a "mhm... mhm... mhm" out of me when I scroll through them and not a single "wow! amazing motive."

Often times it's not really about the quality of the photo itself, but the quality of the motive.

I agree with strubs in the way that their genric photographs, nothing that really seprates them from several hundreds of other photographs off of stock photos website, but then I'm not saying that their bad, you certainly do have a talent i just think you need to find your own style of photography and grow into that more

Well if you're actually after a critique..

1st shot - not bad, maybe would have liked a wider angle on the dog, and slightly different, more creative, focus. There's what looks like trash in the background, and the floor is distracting.

Not much to say about the second shot. Fairly typical hi key shot but highlights a bit blown at the top, and I'm not convinced about the selective colour.

Third shot is ok, just not particularly exciting.

Fourth shot is an example of where you need to concentrate on your framing. Noone really wants to see animals or people with bits chopped off, like half a dog for example.

The peanut shot has potential, but the background again lets it down, because the split where I guess two pieces of paper are next to each other is in focus and annoying. Also the nuts are in a line up until the focus, then out of line, which just bugs me.

The last two are really just snapshots.

If I were to offer some advice, it would be firstly to think about your framing, and secondly to always check the whole of the viewfinder, not just the subject of your shot.
