Does anybody have any good Hostel recommendations for places in Berlin, Vienna and Rome?...We've kinda got all the other places sorted with Hostels, sleeper trains and crashing at friends houses :)

Any recommendations will be very much appreciated :thumb:

I stayed at this hostel in Berlin and didn't have any complaints: http://www.circus-berlin.de/

Friendly staff and a basement bar where you can meet other folk :)

I stayed in one in Berlin, and it was quite good- very cheap, quite quiet (atmosphere, ie not party central!) but plenty of guests to chat to. But can I remember what it was called?! Nope!
Shall keep you updated if I remember. I just know it was by the river and quite close to the metro line

    From my travels:

    Berlin: http://www.generatorhostels.com
HUGE - really comfy beds, awesome bar and close to a S-Bahn station so you can get to town quickly. Alternatively, it's about a 30-minute walk to Unter den Linden (town centre).

    Vienna: http://www.wombats-hostels.com/
Equally awesome - good bar, close to town centre. Had a blast there.

Don't know about Rome hostels as I didn't go there. Had spent two months there previously that year so didn't see any point in going back. Hostelling hasn't really hit Italy in the same way it has everywhere else. As someone said, check out Hostel World as they're normally pretty reliable.

For travelling in Europe I'd just use hostelworld and hostelbookers. Read a few pages of reviews and you'll be able to tell if it's your type of hostel. Some of them are huge party ones, others have a few rooms and the owner actually cares about the travellers - both have their advantages! I highly recommend going to Lithuania!
