Cocaine as first "hard" drug?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Hi all,

So, I'm 17, drink pretty much every weekend and smoke weed relatively often (don't consider myself addicted though - I will socially smoke weed with friends, maybe about once a weekish, usually when the most folk have fucked off from the usual post-pub social gathering and we're thinking about sleeptimes! It's sometimes less than that, and I smoke on my own, probably about once or twice a week. Can quite easily go a few weeks without smoking it if that's the way funds dictate it!).
I hang around mainly with people who are about 20ish, and a lot of them quite frequently take cocaine when I'm around. There's never been any peer pressure to do it - I said pretty early on when I first started going around with them that I don't do class As, and everyones respected that and what not. No reason for not doing it, apart from I have a perfectly good night on alcohol and sometimes weed. And I don't judge them at all for doing it. But, gotta admit I'm doing the typical curiousity thing. I'm quite easily affected by weed (not in a bad way, never felt anything bad on weed, it just doesn't take me a lot to get stoned!), not really a lightweight with alcohol; can get drunk quite quickly but takes a hell of a lot to get me para, haven't been in a proper state for ages!
So, I know it's impossible to say whether cocaine is "safe" for me (let's face it, it isn't safe), but does it sound like a good idea to take it? I'd be doing it with some friends who I completely trust, up at one of their flats. Probably in an after pub "social-gathering" situation, maybe better to wait till later when a lot of people have went home and what not? Pretty much definitely would be mixed with alcohol as well. Anyone any experience of cocaine as a first class A?
Cheers!

My opinion is probly not valid as Ive never taken cocaine, but as for alcohol, just be careful you dont end up in a mess from that, at such a young age.

When mixed with alcohol it is more dangerous as it turns into a different chemical which is more addictive and more toxic, which is something to consider.

To be honest I'd say the big reason not to touch it is the absolutely massive social and ecological damage it does. The trade in cocaine funds some of the nastiest gangsters and paramilitary groups around. Its production also leads to millions of gallons of petrol and sodium hydroxide being dumped into the Amazon aside from the destruction of rain forest. Cocaine is one of the most unethical products in the world.

Yes. Ecstasy was [from what I remember reading] higher in use than Heroin and Cocaine in the UK, but Cocaine is on the rise because of the E quality dropping off. Which is ironic.

I would advise you to stay away from all drugs, i dont mean to sound like a grandad but ive done coke in the past, i was addicted for 2 years, it nearly finished me, i had great times too sure (i think)

Mixing any drug with alcohol will alter the effects of that drug a lot.

My advice is not to turn to a drug to give you a rush, you already have chemicals in your brain to make you feel good, you just gotta know how to release them, have a joke with somebody and laugh so hard until you cant breath, do an activity or exercise, get excited over something like when your team scores e.t.c. meet some new people, learn something new.

If you take a line, youll proberly like it and you will proberly want another one and you will proberly go to the cash machine and buy some more and you will proberly not feel so good the next day.

Id go with E or speed for your first hard drug. Theyre all pretty much in the same ballpark, but cokes much dearer.

And i wouldnt mix any of those with alcohol unless you enjoy hospital :|

Everybodys body reacts differantly to a drug, i know a guy that took an E and rolled round on the floor for a few hours unable to move properly, and others get hyper and love to dance.

I agree with SuzyCreamcheese, those drugs are all differant entirely.

Speed made me hyper and very talkative for hours, normally i was talking crap but i thought i was the man! I didnt give a crap what you had to say, just listen to me!

Coke gave me a great rush when i sniffed it, I felt so attractive, interesting, confidence oozed out of my every orifice... but the hit of the first line is never matched by the second or third... or twenty sixth so i ended up chasing that initial buzz.

E.... if i could take away all my drug experiances i would, except E, i would want to experiance that at least once as its such a great feeling of love and oneness, i dont mean to promote E but the feelings ive got of an E, especially when i was in an all night friendly rave and the music was thumping in my chest was incredible, but the flip side of that is that ive felt like absolute shit for the next few days unable to talk or eat properly. I been completely clean since 2006 and would never dabble again  :d

Not loads of people doing lots of drugs - which is what you might expect infact I think that young colombians in general would be very shocked by the ammount of casual drugs use which goes on in the UK.

But i did see the massive impact that the drugs war had on everyones lives - such as metal detectors when you go in every public building, bongs, shootings, kidnappings - having to have a police escort to go from one town to another because we were foreign - that kind of thing...

Granted there is a massive ecological impact to the current market economy we have. But there is a difference between the legal market and the damage done by illegal drugs.

And anyway, even if they are the same in their impact that doesn't excuse people in the UK using cocaine given its impact both ecologically and socially in the countries where it's produced.
