    I don't want to be pedantic but neither are a Government. One is a legislature and the other is a devolved administration ;)

    They're trying to undermine Scotlands, not the UK's. If Scotland want to play with the big boys and make their own decisions then they'll have to accept that they pissed off a lot of people when they released the bloke.

    But Scotland is not a sovereign country, even it has autonomy in some areas. The Westminster government still controls Scotland's foreign affairs, and that of all other constituent countries.

    So in a sense they are undermining UK sovereignty.

    They don't control their legal affairs though. The Scots have acted within the rules as it was their right.
