    I'm sure people have tried before - but do you have Avast anti-virus, the one that comes with Windows 7, if so then that's what has caused a lot of problems for people trying to connect.

    i dont think its a problem with the settings on my laptop (it worked fine using the wireless at my mums, but i think its to do with the fact i've got one of those mobile internet dongles

    Which company Thief, I could have a quick check to see if there's anything about it that might be auto loading some kind of firewall or virus protection

    Hey Thief, based on a comment on a website there may be a block you just need to remove -
    bought a T-Mobile 120 mobile broadband PAYG dongle for occasional use when away from home. OK, so the speed in nothing like I get at home (20Mb fibre) but for mail and general browsing it is fine. It streams radio stations no problems, don't know about iPlayer or good video as I have not tried that. You-Tube (i.e. low quality) video seems OK, but I do not have a lot of interest in video. The content lock was a bit of a pain as it blocked access to a couple of the discussion forums I use, called them chat rooms, a 2 minute phone call to T-mobile and the block was removed.

    Yeah i did think it might have been something to do with that content lock thing. Guess a wee trip to the T-mobile shop is in order before i can get back to the wonderful world of thesite chats
