    Just a strain of cannabis, so called because of "purple" hairs on the buds - nothing to do with the effects.

    Purple haze is a type of weed, so called as others have mentioned because of its slightly purple hairs. These go darker as the proportion of THC to CBD changes as the plant is in the latter stages of flowering. If the buds are picked early then less CBD is produced.
