Hi all,

I'm an 19 year old guy.

I currently work full time behind a bar, It isn't a long term career, just somthing for while I secure a job with prospects.

I'm looking to join either:
- The Police
- Fire Service
- Coastguard
- Navy (As an officer, not a Rating)

Or anything along those lines.

I have at GCSE (10 total):
2 A's, 6 B's and 2 C's

A-Level:
One C and an E.

I also have many other extra-curricular formal qualifications in many different things.

What are my prospects in the careers previously cited, and in sectors I may not have considered?

With the exception of specialist (mainly scientific) roles within the Police and Navy the qualifications you've got are more than enough. The minimumen requirements for the above jobs are generally the ability to read and write/3 GCSES. So you'll be fine.

I don't know about the Navy/Coastguard but jobs in the Police and Fire Service are EXTREMELY sought after at the moment with an average of several hundred people applying for each vacancy so having extra qualifications AND experience will be hugely beneficial to you.

You're better off going onto the website of the organisation you want to join to see what they say are the minimum requirements. As whowhere said there is also alot of competition so anything extra that you have as well is going to help.
