Something wrong?

I'm not sure if I'm just worrying myself over nothing or not :x Sorry if this is tmi.

Last night me and my boyfriend had sex, a bit rougher than normal. When I went to the bathroom after all the semen had came out a watery red colour, which I wasn't too bothered about since it's my pill free week and my period's due. So I put on a pad and went to bed. In the morning there was some blood on the pad but not as much as I would have expected, and then a little later I noticed there was no more blood and that it had stopped completely. I was worrying a little about it until my period started a few hours ago, but now it's starting to stop again and it's not been much.

I've had periods regular every month since I started when I was 11, and never had them start and stop like this. Also, I've had impetigo infections on and off since I first caught it in December. For the last month I've been using antibiotic cream on all infected areas and I've just had some friends say that it could of got into my bloodstream from that and affected the pill, which I didn't think could happen since it's not something like a tablet I was taking

Just want to know if anyone knows whats going on..

    Hey Kalika

I really can't say what could be the cause of this but I would suggest giving NHS Direct a call, they can give you advice and it will put your mind at rest.

Let us know how you get on

Well, thats it started up again but this time it's just really light and pale stuff :/

Really scared I might be pregnant, an aunt I trust said I should take a test asap. I don't think I'll call NHS Direct but just wait til the morning to buy a test.

Update: Took a test this morning and it was negative, but still barely anything and it's starting and stopping still.. I feel like I probably could have got away with just using the 1 pad since Friday night. No idea what's going on

Maybe its a good idea to ring NHS Direct or even Brook who give free confidential help and advice with contraception, STI's, sex, pregnancy etc. I've rang them before and theyre really helpful and friendly and definately worth the phone call for some peace of mind.

    Hey Kalika,

Well done for doing the pregnancy test. A lighter period when not pregnancy might relate to the following:
There will be times in your life when your cycles change. It could be a long term change or it could just be something short lived that was brought on by stress or common illness. It is most likely that you have either been stressed about something or you have just had a natural hormone fluctuation. Give it some time and see how the next few months go.

However, getting a professional opinion wouldn't hurt. I can see why you wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable calling NHS Direct about these issues, but getting in touch with people who specialise in sexual health may help to put your mind at rest? You can rest assured that they answer all kinds of similar queries all day, every day.

If you're 25 or younger than Brook is a great port of call - the askBrook service includes an email/text and helpline number - https://www.askbrook.org.uk/

Another option is the FPA they have a helpline - 0845 122 8690 which you can call for information and advice on sexual health.

    Hope this helps. :)

I tried the send a question thing yesterday but still no answer today. I'm quite shy, especially over the phone so I'm not to keen on that..

I've heard about implantation bleeding, and I'm kind of worried that's what it was. It's stopped now, was only a watery pink yesterday.. I think if it was implantation bleeding then it might of been too early to test so I'm not sure what to think.

My boyfriend's mum is wanting me to go to the doctor's asap, but again I'm worried that if I'm pregnant and go too soon, they won't be able to pick it up yet and I won't know until another month down the line
