Ashley Cole should not have a place on the team. Nor should Steven Gerrard.
But then.. there are just no good English players.
Walcott maybe, but he is still quite young.

Why not? I know Gerrard hasn't exactly been in form this season, but he's still one of the best players we have. Even if Capello doesn't pick him for the starting line up, to prove a point, we still need him on that plane.

hhmmm.. I just think he's a bit past it now. He's peeked, and now he's fallen.

If he's fit, surely Theo Walcott deserves a look in ahead of Owen?

Ashely Coles one of the best left backs in world.

    No he hasn't.

Not sure about Joe Cole, hasn't really played enough for me this season. Walcott over Owen defiantely and Crouch has to be on the plane, his goal scoring record for England speaks for itself.

Yeah... but he is a twat. I'd rather we failed badly than had him on the pitch.

    Green
    Hart
    Robinson

    A Cole
    Johnson

    Terry
    Ferdinand
    Lescott
    Upson
    Richards

    Barry

    Gerrard
    Lampard
    J Cole
    Beckham

    Rooney
    Defoe
    Crouch

+ one of Carrick and Hargreaves
+ three of Lennon, Milner, SWP, Young, Walcott
+ one of Heskey, Carlton Cole and Bent,

+ James, Bridge (or Warnock), Jagielka as backups.

And I definitely wouldn't have Gerrard in CM.

    J Cole?

He's played fuck all football so far this season, and after suffering quite a bad injury you think he's going to get back in form in time? Definately would be one of my starting eleven but If the World Cup was next week I wouldn't take him.

It's a good job it's not next week then. ;)

He's the best creative midfielder we have by a mile.

I do see where you're coming from with Joe Cole, but the World Cup is still months away and he's starting to play for Chelsea again. He's got pace, strength, creativity, he can score, the lot. A definate addition, even if he's not quite in form enough to be in the starting 11, he could definately be an impact player.
Completely agree with Crouch being in the squad....his goals are never pretty, nothing about him should equal him being a good footballer.....but as you said, he scores and he scores big for England. We can also use him as a target man instead of fucking Heskey.
Theo Walcott...I just don't like him. Ok he's got potential, but we keep saying this. He's fast and that's about it. He's just not big enough. Lennon, Milner or Wright-Phillips can do better jobs on the wing I reckon, and I just have a really good feeling about Owen. Call it a sixth sense but I just know we need him in the World cup squad...he was too good to just lose it at 29.

At least we now know that John Terry is happy to keep the WAGs entertained...

Which brings me onto another topic.... should Terry still captain England?

Of course not. Whilst his private life is his own, the fact that it's a team mate's missus means that his actions cross into a football scenario. It shows a lack ofrespect for his team mates and loses his the dressing room - or at least should lose him the dressing room.

He should resign. Given his arrogance though I'm expecting that he will have to be sacked because I don't think he actually knows what the "decent" thing to do is...
