Hey, does anyone know of any good sites or, preferably, forums where i can ask specific career advice and get some good information back.

Most of the ones i find i end up going round in circles and dont get much help.

A specific careers forum would be good, would be likely to get some good responses from people working in my field if its a busy site.

And yes i have googled it :p just asking mainly for any tips from your personal experience :)

I reckon you might be best off here or another generic forum for general careers advise. The Prospects website is good in terms of the detail for the careers given, but the forum is crap. Otherwise search specific jobs and you might find forums for that sector or industry.

talk to a pro in your school/uni careers service.

make friends with them and it will open many many doors.

Depends whether you are studying abroad. Here a few websites

    Whatuni.com
    www.cappex.com
    Youtube.com
    The Guardian and Times newspapers
Different papers if you are studying abroad, The New York Times maybe

Sadly my friend no research has ever been done, in the UK at least regarding the regrets that people have with their careers. Don't rely on careers advisors. I would waste my time with them. A careers advisor that I had an appointment with a few years ago had never seen a student loan application, that gives an idea of the training they get.
