As far as I am aware, Bin Laden has never emphatically denied being behind the 9/11 attacks. He was quite happy to take responsibility for the various attacks in Aden, Algeria, the Philippines, Egypt, Jordan and the Yemen and so without that denial, one could reasonably assume that he was behind it.

This denial was reported by CNN on September 17th.

Chomsky makes a very good point about this when he was asked during a recent LSE seminar in London:

His basic point is 'Why if the debate around this is so compelling around technical details, why has it not taken place in the usual channels of debate and peer review?'

Why the appeal to authority ?

Would you not consider Chomsky part of the establishment himself ?

Minutes later, passenger Barbara Olson called her husband Ted Olson, the solicitor general of the United States, also reporting that the flight had been hijacked, and that the hijackers had knives and box cutters.

    Not according to he FBI.

Their evidence put foward at the trial of the alleged 20th hijacker, Zacarias Moussaoui,in 2006 claimed she had not made the call.

Check out the date on my link compared to yours to his claim that he was responsible.

So you refute the whole argument that no one called their loved ones based on one person possibly not having made that call? As another poster wrote earlier, whatever happened then to the plane and the passengers if it didn't crash into the Pentagon?

I must say, I really never had you down as a conspiracy theorist. Oh dear.

The link I provided was a reply to your "never" speculation

Oh ok ... fair enough. But that's beside the point. He did accept responsibility.

I did not refute anything. I was offering the court evidence presented by the FBI which is at odds with your claim.

I have no answer to your second question. I was only a witness to the scene, not at the scene.

What name you call me is not relevant, is it ?

As for being a conspiracy theorist, I would suggest that theorising about the possible conspiracies of any person(s) following the presentation of evidence would be beneficial to the rational enquiring mind. Certainly in the legal field, it is.

Benazir Bhutto named his killer in a BBC interview with David Frost as Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh.

The interview was subsequently edited by the BBC to remove this claim without explanation.

    Bhutto was herself subsequently "edited".

Coincidence ? Perhaps, but the plot thickens, doesn't it ?

I saw that interview and it may well have been an unfortunate slip of the tongue. She didn't expand on it at all and I thought at the time that it didn't make sense in the context of what she was saying. I thought she had meant to refer to Daniel Pearl or someone from the Daniel Pearl incident (but I can't remember those details clearly any more).

By the way, GoS, did you see that TV program last night, The Conspiracy Files - Osama Bin Laden - Dead or Alive?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00q2vzs/The_Conspiracy_Files_Osama_Bin_Laden_Dead_or_Alive/

David Frost said exactly what I thought, that the Bhutto reference to bin Laden was a slip of the tongue.

Was an interesting program. Check it out. :)
