Sorry to copy you Curly_Boy but :p

Verse 1:
Dressed in black give your coat to the doorman
He'll look after your
**spoken** Perfection Memories Dreams **spoken**
Just don't forget to collect them again

Dreams are built on tears

Verse 2:

Are you dancing for fun or to ignore the cries?
Fraying ropes to try to climb
You'll only drop back to the floor

Dreams are built on tears

Verse 3:
Crumbling walls dripping tap
Smashed windows, Juest keep walking by
Concentrate and you'll keep together
But don't forget to lock the door

Dreams are built on tears

Verse 4:
Chip your perfection
Put it away for a rainy day
If your hands are slipping then tighten your grasp
Blow of the dust, come out from your mask

Dreams are built on tears
Verse 5:
Don't be affraid to let your
True colours shine through
Don't hide them all with grey
After all... it's just a shade

    really like them :)
the only thing i would say is try to make the verses slightly longer, the way i was singing them they felt a bit short, but actually really good

Why, thank you :D I wrote those on a course and the lady said I MUST have a chorus and a maximum of 6 lines a verse, so I had to change it a bit, but the verses were longer before she had a go. I'll try and find the original.

    cool,
imo not all songs have to have a chorus, so long as theres a decent flow in the lyrics and riffs then its a good song, i generally put a chorus in because theres something that u can go back to in every song and i use them for the basis of the middle 8 :)

curly_boy, Think RnB beat, slow it down, they fit better
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
i never said what genre they should be just that in general verses and choruss are long, including in RnB

not necesarily, i dont think they look short anyways, keep writing!

Well... I think you are all singing it to a very different tune. It's quite a long song, but not very slow... hard to explain it really.
And also, it's not supposed to sound neat, I hate simple songs. My head is all over the place, and my lyrics reflect that :-)
