oral thrush - what is it like?

Hi guys and gals,
What exactly does oral thrush look like? Some places seem to say even a white tongue is oral thrush, but aren't there tons of people whose tongues are somewhat white that don't have it? Other places say that oral thrush is when there are actual plaques that you can scrape off and cause bleeding when you do so.
How does it feel like, too? If there's no particular feeling on the tongue, does that point to it not being thrush?

with mine i got a ton of ulcers as well
mine would sting if i ate or drank or even talked
i had a thick white coating over my tongue
its a fungal infection...
everyones tongue can go white.... your tongue cleans its self to a certain degree.... however cleaning ya tongue as well as ya teeth should make the white go away or at least help.
if for what ever reason your tongue stops cleaning its elf... thats when the bacteria can grow... leading to more and more bacteria building up.... eventually turning into a fungal infection or thrush
