Me asnd my bf are going to Las Vegas at the end of October for a week...I am so excited :hyper:

Just wondering if anyone could recommend some interesting things to while we are there?! :)

We are thinking of getting a car while we are there, my bf will have to drive as he's over 25 (which Im glad about, ha! I get out of it). I've had a little look and theres things like the M&M factory and the Zoo, obviously wander around the other hotels and go to the shopping malls.

I'm so excited, I've always wanted to go. We're staying in the Stratosphere (sp?!) hotel, anyone stayed here before? It looks nice from the pics and the majority of the reviews are good. But for £600 flight and hotel you can't complain :)

Ahhhhh I love Vegas! There is soooo much to do, you won't get bored :)Shark reef aquarium at Mandalay Bay, ride a gondola at the Venetian, watch the fountains outside the Bellagio (free!), see the volcano outside the Mirage (also free!), go and see the battle of the sirens outside Treasure Island (free!), lion habitat at MGM (free), roller coaster and amazing views from the top of the Stratosphere, flamingos at the Flamingo (free), fall of Atlantis at Caesar's Palace forum shops (free)....there is just SO MUCH to do!

We also went to see a couple of shows, Cirque du Soleil is just breathtaking if you can catch one of their shows.

Also might be worth making a trip to the Grand Canyon if your boyfriend is up for a lot of driving, otherwise you can get a good coach tour out there for a reasonable price.

Ahhh I am so excited for you, I absolutely LOVE Vegas, getting married out there in a couple of years time. There is so much to do out there! Also you can pick up "whats on in Vegas" type leaflets all over the place and they have the times of all the displays outside of the hotels and info about other stuff you can do out there.

    This website is pretty good.

Not sure if I could last a week at Vegas, it's very in-your-face! And too many English people for my liking :p

I took my girlfriend to the topless show "Fantasy" at Luxor for her birthday (her choice!). It was actually quite entertaining for both of us!

If you're into your gambling I recommend going down to Fremont Street of the strip first. You can play most games cheap as good practice before winning/losing big on the strip. Also the less posh hotels od the strip (like Excalibur and Tropicana) have cheaper tables. For blackjack unless you're a complete gambler the cheaper hands are better, so seek out the $5 tables!

The Bellagio and Caeser's Palace are cool. Especially watch the fountain show outside the Bellagio - if only for the hourly (?) one where they play a very patriotic US song, followed by salutes, whoops and cheers from all the Americans!

    Vegas is amazing!

I wouldn't recommend the all you can eat buffet at Luxor - couple of girls on my trip ate there and then had a bout of Egyptian Flu.

99c margaritas are good! (Rounded up to $1 including tax)

I'd recommend Hooters for lunch if you like wings and things :D

As others said, definitely see the fountain show at the Bellagio. The rollercoaster at New York New York looks a lot smaller on the outside. How cool that you're staying in the Stratosphere though, if you can brave the rides, do it! And the pirate show at Treasure Island; think Pussycat Dolls meets pirates.
Also might be worth making a trip to the Grand Canyon if your boyfriend is up for a lot of driving, otherwise you can get a good coach tour out there for a reasonable price.

    A thousand times

Thanks everyone! I'm even more excited now :hyper:

Is it expensive for drinks in bars and clubs? I've never been to the US before! I'm going to be taking about $800/$900, not sure what my bf is taking but we will have plenty between us :)

As in the UK, it really depends where you go and what time. If you look around the net you can get a good idea of what you can expect to pay, as it does vary a lot. Also, be aware that at some clubs there is little/no seating available unless you pay for a table or pay for bottle service.

i recommend you go see "O" if you want to see a cirque de soliel show, i loved the casino at mgm, shopping at caesars is amazing. if you want to drink on the cheap go to an off license and buy a bottle and make up cocktails before you go out for the night.

oooo and you cant go to vegas without seeing the blue man group, try to get seats close to the front :)
