Surprised there isn't a thread about this already.

The maximum amount of marijuana for "personal use" under the new law is 5 grams — the equivalent of about four joints. The limit is a half gram for cocaine, the equivalent of about 4 "lines." For other drugs, the limits are 50 milligrams of heroin, 40 milligrams for methamphetamine and 0.015 milligrams for LSD.

What are your thoughts? Good move?

If they legalised any quantity drug producers would have to become civilised quickly if they want to remain in profit.

Closer to home, Portugal is the place to go. Possession and use of drugs is legal unless there is intent to supply. If caught, you attend a drug awareness/rehabilitation course. The amazing thing is that drug use and drug deaths has fallen.

Why is that amazing? It seems fairly obvious to me if we concentrated on education rather than punishment that people would use more sensibly.

They can punish there though, if you are caught repeatedly you can get your driving licence taken away or have to do community service.
