It's pretty clear Gordon Brown is going down at the next election the way things stand at present. What laws could he pass to make himself more popular? I agree and I think National Express should have lost their other two franchises too. But as part of that we need longer franchises to allow companies time to pump their own money into the franchises and have time to make that money back rather than them using government funds or overbidding for franchises.

Still we should see fare cuts of around -0.6% in January bearing in mind June's RPI was -1.6%.
