Month inconsistency?

I just bought a year's subscription on a UK magazine, and found something strange in the confirmation e-mail. Not the "Uh oh, something's wrong" kind of strange, just the "Say again?" kind.

It says:
Start Issue: SEPTEMBER 2009 delivered on or around 15/07/2009
Expiry Issue: AUGUST 2010 delivered on or around 01/08/2010

How can the September issue be out in July? Even considering that sometimes one issue is for two months, that should still be the August issue. And whatever the reason is, shouldn't it exist next year too? So the issue released on 1/8 would be the October issue.

So, you wonderful UK people, what's the explanation? :p

Maybe it was just a test to see if anyone actually reads it.

Oh. I was expecting to hear there was a break in the time-space continuum over there and everyone lost a month this year.

Magazines often came out the month before its issue month. But nah, it's quite now common to see magazines from various publishers that are 2 months in advance.

most mags come out in advance of the day/month printed on them!!

especially glossy ones such as glamour, vogue, gq etc

trying to explain telly mags to customers used to be a nightmare haha
