Painting shoes

I have bought a dress for a wedding but can't find any shoes that I like that match. Is it possible to buy black shoes and then paint them? Has anyone ever done this? Would spray paint work?

    oooh interesting idea. ive never heard of nyone i know doing that, but i dont see a reason why it wouldnt work? but if the shoes are expensive then i woulddnt risk it unless u know it will defo work! so either sample it on something cheaper but the sae material, or find out about getting them dyed. :)

    I did that for the last wedding I was in. White shoes and gold spray paint. Worked a charm. The paint didn't rub off or run or anything. I've worn them a few more times even.
