I craved sponges, as in the bath and washing up sponge!

My fella even caught me chewing/sucking one  (a clean one)

Then during my late pregnancy I craved mash potato and chicken dinner, had one about every day!

I heard pickles. It might be a rumor tho. Probably a lot of everything. You are eating for two and the freeloader needs carbs, protein and fats too.

My mum craved liquorice and cried when it was the middle of the night and she didnt have any. My dad even went out to see if he could find some and couldnt.

I dread to think what i'm gonna crave

I craved vinegar-y things at the beginning - salt n vinegar crisps, vinegary chips, pickled onions. That was my main thing. Recently, I have just been an advertisers dream - if I see something on the tv, I'll quite fancy that and not forget it until I get it. It's not really a craving, though.

It's a myth that you are eating for two too. You need to eat extra calories in the final trimester but you shouldn't over-eat.

But your tastebuds change so you may like them while you are pregnant.

My tastebuds changed but it was more that I started to not like things, rather than like things.

I've heard loads of people say this but I don't understand it! Is it wet sponges and the moisture? Or the texture? I find it strange. But then again, a lot of cravings are!

With me it was a dry sponge, I loved the texture and the smell:heart: I also liked them washing up sponges with the green scorurer (sp) bit on them, that was a good one for chewing!!

Obviously I wasn't pregnant (2 reasons why that would have been impossible) but when I was 5 or so I used to love biting sponges and sucking the water from inside them.
I just thought I'd mention that.

I've gone off more things than I've got a craving for. There's nothing that I didn't really like before that I've got a craving for now. Like littlemissy said though, my tastes have changed, as i think they do for a lot of people... one of the main things now is roast chicken that I used to love and now makes me feel ill to think about eating!! Mind you, I still have a bit of time to develop a few cravings ;)

I used to do that, too, yet now the thought of it makes my skin crawl. That texture between your teeth... yeeesh!
