withholding of pay

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I have not been paid in full for my hours worked last month. I addressed the balance outstanding and that amount was agreed.

However,
My pay dept says they cannot pay it all in one go. They can only pay 69% and the balance paid at the end of next months pay.

What is this all about ?????????????

I have never come across this before.

Please advise

Bill

Sounds like a brush-off to me.

Tell them that withholding pay is a serious matter and that they need to pay you as agreed in a timeframe of your discretion or you will take it to a tribuanl or county court, which they would have to defend against, which would cost them a lot more than your wages, probably.

Speak to your union rep if you have one, or an employment solicitor. Depending on how much it is, of course ;)

    Wages

    Thanks for your reply.

    I agree totally.

These were basic wages not "overtime" either.
