Cereals

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Has anyone noticed that Cereals in the UK (by a certain well know cereal company) are getting harder?

I feel like I'm gonna break my teeth on them after being away 2 months.

Nope. Are you storing them correctly? :p

I find cereal gets chewy and soft when stored improperly. Had a baggie of stale cheerios for breakfast yesterday in fact :p

Maybe where you were, all the cereal was stale so it seems extra hard now

That sounds like something you would eat if you were 80 and need to stay regular :p

Anything with the word bran in it really :p

These are two totally different cereals by the same company, one was brand new and what I noticed even more was the sell by date was really far away so it was really new box.

The first one was a bit hard but thought it would wosften with milk but it didn't - the other was crunchy nut - may favorite cereal and it aint the same as before.

It's like the company switched suppliers or something for the raw ingredients.

or how you buy one of those cheaper supermarket versions which are similar but different.

Let the milk soften it then before eating it.

Best cereal in the world by the way.

The best one's the Jordans strawberry cluster crunch thing, but Asda's own brand is about 99% as good but half the price.

Isn't the word cluster just brilliant? :D

It is good as all the Coutnry Crisp cereals are, but the choc one beats all.

I love eating cereal at random times of the day, it sure as hell aint just a breakie thing!!

Gotta say my favourite are Frosties, Ricicles (spelling?), Honey Loops (not cheerio's) and those choc chip cookie one's.
Can't go wrong with the classics either though - Corn Flakes, Wheatabix and Rice Crispies.

I really like cinnamon toast crunch but its really bad for you and i'm not even sure you can buy it in the UK any more.

However at the moment i'm loving the uber posh and very expensive Dorset Cereals (I mix them with bran flakes to make them go further) and they have a new variety out which has no raisans or sultantas.

They are high in sugar but really not the worst thing in the world. No more calories and fat than any other cereal, high in calcium +d, vitamin a, b and some others and its whole grain. Most cereals now, no matter how suggary and delicious are just like that.

The best time to eat cereal is at 1am when you've been out on the lash.

Nothing beats a bowl of Crunchy Nut when you're wankered.

Sainsburys have their own brand of this which is actually just as nice and not as expensive. It has a mixture or white, milk and dark chocolate in it :yum:
