Should Gordon stay or should he go?

A few days ago, a petition somehow managed to get through to the No 10 Downing Street website calling for Gordon Brown to resign as PM. After being mentioned in some weekend newspapers and on the blogs, it currently has just over 24,000 signatures.

Meantime, a petition calling for him to remain PM went online today and currently has a less impressive 83 signatures. Those people who want him to stay include Adolf Hitler, Ivor Broquen-Printer, Phil McHunt, Rock Ing-Horse, and "All your friends at the BBC". Indeed... :eek2: Should he stay or should he go?

Over to you for any random thoughts/comments/bribes etc...

I remember when Labour came to power and they ridiculed the way the Conservatives were involved in sleaze, promising to be whiter than white. I believed them. Well, they are just as bad if not worse than the Tories because one would have EXPECTED better from Labour. It's a betrayal. Our country is being run into the ground and it looks more and more like a police state. Brown and the whole Labour government can now fuck off.

You do realise that him resigning would result in numpties like Jacqui Smith in charge don't you? He's bad, but he's not that bad. He should call an election this year though. But I don't want the Conservatives in either. I'd rather the party who've actually been right about this whole thing be put in charge, but that's not going to happen because the British public are clearly idiots who don't actually base their decisions on policy. No offence, British public.

Putting Five-Bellies Smith in Downing Street would only have the advantage of allowing Dick Timney to masturbate over taxpayer-funded pornographic films whilst writing letters to newspaper editors that don't mention he's married to Die Jackboot. I feel sorry for those people working at the mail room of any newspaper that he sends letters to.

If Gordon went, there is no way in hell that Labour could get away with imposing yet another unelected mentalist on us. They'd have to call an election straight away - even numpties like Polly Toynbee (who used to love Gordon, then hated him, then loved him again) would have to concede that. I hope Labour are looking forward to the next 20 years on the opposition benches - they sure as hell deserve it.

If Labour wanted any chance of being in power again, they'd have to put someone who really had guts and conviction in charge. Frank Field is one of few in Labour who I listen to, Tom Harris being another. The likes of Miliband, Ed Cunt and Harperson can fuck right off.

Of course there is only going to be something like 83 people going to a sign a petition for him to stay, people only go online and vent about stuff when they are unhappy with the status quo. Those vaguely happy with, or not caring about the current situation, generally dont go out of the way to voice their opinion, unless the situation then changes and their opinion becomes the challenged one.

To paraphrase a famous saying about elections, if those No. 10 Petitions were really able to change or influence anything, they'd ban them.

If by that you mean the Lib Dems, I agree. Vince Cable has to be one of the smartest politicians out there. Well, who knows, if the election result is very close, perhaps the Lib Dems will be able to exert more influence.

They already are having influence, Teagan. It was thanks to an informal LibDem-Tory alliance of sorts that the Government were defeated in Parliament yesterday over the issue of giving more rights to the Gurkhas.

I <3 Vince Cable, he should be leading the LibDems, but he's in a fantastic position in that he can say things knowing that he'll never have to put them into action.

A civil servant friend of mine reckons I'd be a fantastic LibDem candidate. I can't work out if that was an insult or not :D

P.S. I think the Goon will be all right. I see Adam Applegarth has signed his petition;)

Yeah, but he's also very shrewd and careful about what fights he chooses. He doesn't seem to have an opinion on badger culling for instance ... (highly controversial). :)

Yes. Not many to choose from in the Labour Party but there are still a couple .. but better still, hold an early election.

Here's how the petitions are looking now. The number that want Gordon carted off to resign and spend the rest of his days at a "Scottish council care home for the terminally bewildered", as Richard Littlejohn put it today, is 41,211. The number who want him to stay as PM has actually gone DOWN from 83 to 30.

Oh well, here's hoping he makes another YouTube video for the nation to laugh at mercilessly in these difficult times.

Brown has to go. His cabinet is creating a tax time bomb from bailing out all the various financial institutions which myself and other people of my age will have to pay for in the future.
However I'm not pro conservative either! At The moment I would struggle to pick who I would vote for
