Shampoo

Right I'm planning on clearing out my bathroom soon and i have quite a few bottles of really old half used shampoo and conditioner etc - despite my best efforts to use them up i always give in as they tend to make my hair a bit crap.

Anyway i want to get rid of the actual liquid and then recycle the bottles but i've no idea what to do with the chemicals - surely if i shove all of them down the sink then it will be bad?

Yes, I think it is fine to pour it down the drain. There's a list of hazzardous household objects and how to dispose of them here, and shampoo isn't on it.
