Just let us know what you're using to process images (Photoshop, Irfranview, etc) and we can let you know.

If not feel free to just post the photobucket links rather than up them as an image? Though ideally we'll figure out how you can resize them :)

Have a gander at this, if you have the "constrain proportions box ticked" then if you change one value, it will always change the other value in proportion to it.

Photography is something I'm passionate about but I only have a simple digital camera (was 5 MP) but I loved some of the shots I got out of it. I thought I'd share a few...Some of them are lent cameras but I took the shot.

    1. Pony eye
    2. Pussycat (this was taken on my phone!)
    3. Manchester sun on the train
    4 & 5. Glossop countryside

    A few more!!

    6. Glossop Town - not perfect but I like it!
    7. Marmaris - Turkey
    8. Southend-on-Sea at sunset, hazy, but I like it.
    9. In the paddock
    10 & 11. My Little Pony

All done now, I promise. I LOVE all the city shots - I'd love to study photography better after uni perhaps :D Lovely shots guys :)

I'd probably be tempted to crop the right hand side to remove the sign and really concentrate the eye on the lines leading up.

I'd also rotate it clockwise just a wee bit so that the vertical lines are straight :)
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
k, i've changed the images to links now :)
i've also cropped it but not put up a link for it yet,
also i'm not sure about rotating it tbh, i've looked it at when i've done that and it really changes the image and i don't really like it
would be good on other images though

This one is good, looks it was taken off the Railway viaduct outside Glossop?

Sunset on the canal is good. Some of your other landscapes look like they could benefit from you investing in an ND grad filter.

i really like the scottish thistle, looks amazing
I'm doing a shoot tomorrow so i'll put the photos up sometime during the next week, gotta take like around 100-200 photos for this one though

Yes I also like that photo too. I enjoy taking photos directly in to the sun.

Why do you think I need a filter?
I use a digital camera - a Ricoh R6 Caplio, So I can't attach a filter on to the camera

Ahh ok. The reason it would benefit from the filter is to avoid situations like your Lochranza photo where the sky to the top right has blown out.

You can do some stuff in post processing, but if your highlights were blown in the original shot then you can't ever get that detail because it won't have been recorded in the first place. If you can't use a filter because of the type of camera, then you could whack the camera on a tripod and take the same shot a few times with exposure bracketing, and merge them in post to get the most detail / dynamic range.

Tripods are great for macro stuff. Essential in some cases, I think.

The only problem with them outside is that they can get in the way a bit. Both literally and in terms of spontenaity.

i hardly ever use a tripod unless i'm doing a multi shot where i wanna get all the shots in to one (like this 14500984_0d5515b302.jpg?v=0

or if i use a long shutter speed

Unless you are shooting in great light at a decent speed I agree that a tripod really is essential, even the tiniest movement in the camera during the exposure just ruins it and as much stability as possible is needed. Personally I need another tripod because the one I have now is very cheap and nasty and while it was fine for a Compact it is slightly unstable with a SLR and has seen better days.

I'm lucky in that my new SLR does low light very well and is more than happy shooting at 1/8 @ 1600ISO without producing much in the way of noise.

Anyway, I'll put a couple of mine up:

View across Blackfriars Bridge in London. The noise flared up a bit on this one because of the fog:

This one was taken in Ely. Shows a train making its way across the flat landscape:
    ts2sv0.jpg

This one was taken in York Railway station on New Years Eve while I was waiting for a train home. Shows a solitary passenger observing the information screens.
    ts3oy4.jpg

This final one shows the Brunel built Royal Albert Bridge in Saltash:

PS: Coolme, have a great time in Barcelona!

Oh wow, I love the Blackfriars Bridge in London.

I'm looking forward to doing part of the project where you use a tripod and move the camera slightly to capture the whole 'scene' and then PS it together :)

I like the first one a lot. The second is quite good, but maybe I'd like it more if the object was closer to the camera.

I really like the photos from the Lake District, then again that's me being biased seeing as I only live an hour away, if that.

Indeed, some from the Lakes. I'm the one in the black behind Jazz.
