Turkey turket turkey - sick of the stuff yet!?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Unfortunately all the leftover turkey from the Christmas dinner in our house has been scoffed up now :grump: , mostly in sandwiches and people just picking chunks and eating it..so pretty boring really. But for those that do have some of the meaty goodness left - how inventive are you with your uses?

Turkey curry?

turkey ear-muffs?

Build a leaning tower of erm..turkey?

Creative ideas please!

Cold turkey IN chips. I can't say I have ever had that. How do you get the turkey in the chips? Do you have a machine to do it? Or is it just by magic? :chin:

This is the one thing about Christmas that I loathe - all the bollocks about the food. Turkey has got to be one of the most horrible meat products out there. It's dry and awful to eat. Yet come Crimbo time, people buy it in their droves. This year, my mum has brought a turkey large enough to feed the 5000 - Jesus Christ would blush at such a sight. Whilst I'm here, I'm also sick to death of hearing people say how much they love eating mince pies. If they're so delicious, how come you only eat them once a year?

And on another note, why the fuck was I able to buy a Cadbury's Creme Egg on Christmas Eve? This is getting crazy...

You are not cooking it properly if you are complaining that it is dry and awful to eat. When a turkey is cooked properly it can be lovely. I cooked one a couple of years ago and it was really moist and tender.

You really are a bit of a bah humbug :grump:

I spent £80 on a Turkey this year. Well worth it.
It's really good for you, and so versatile.

Today made Turkey Carcass Soup with the old pressure cooker and Turkey, Ham and Leek Pie with a lot whats left.
