i was thinking of buying my boyfriend a setanta sports subscription for christmas as hes mentioned a few times how much he'd like it. the only thing is im a bit confused about how much it costs and what kind of thing i need to get. he has a new digital TV (i think!) with freeview already built in to the tv, so i had a look on the site and...
3: If you have a Digital TV then all you need is a Digital TV Adaptor, CAM (Conditional Access Module), which slots into the back of your TV and costs £24.99
so what would i need to do, buy the adaptor for 24.99 and thats it? or is it 24.99 and then 10.99 a month for subscription? it seems a lot of money for one channel :eek2:
any help would be appreciated

I work for Setanta Sports and if possible I advise to purchase it on Sky, virgin media or tiscali.
I'm almost certain if you get Freeview version it's first three months free and a connection fee of 14.99, now I'm only speculating that from what it says on the website as I don't work for freeview, only satellite.
You can get a subscription on the web for 7.99 a month but it also comes in as a handy substitute (at 2.99 when purchased with any other sub) for any time of a signal issue as sometimes when the weather is terrible, signal can be too, but this isn't always the case just something to be aware of.
You can purhcase annual sub's too, so that it will be paid for the whole year. I advise against annual sub on freeview as you have the first 3 months free anyway.

his parents have sky but i dont think that'd be any good as he would want it on his tv and not the downstairs one. so dya think for freeview id have to pay 14.99 connection fee, 24.99 for the digital adaptor, then get 3 months free and then start paying 10.99 a month after that?
i know that in asda where i work we sell freeview boxes that you buy and then get 3 months of setanta free, i think they're £30 and then the connection fee of 14.99. but that would mean buying another freeview box which he doesnt need because its already built into his telly...

Yeh with freeview you get 3 months free if you pay a £14.99 connection fee but you need to have that CAM pack and also say it to the agent because sometimes they'll just put you on a normal package so say "it says I get 3 months free with this package" even if it doesn't. Goes up to £10.99 a month afterwards.
Yeh don't get a box because it won't be compatible if he has freeview built into the TV already, would wreck everything doing that.
