repairing paper lampshades

just bought a nice standard lamp from ikea with a paper lampshade...

and i've already broken it! its got a sizable rip on one side, and it gonna be a trek to take it back.

Any idea whats the best way to repair it?

    Old stamps, preferably ones from many lands or the special issue ones the post office do from time to time as they look nicer.
