:crying: Went to the news on the bbc this morning and the breaking news headlines was that another young person had been shot in Derby. Out with his mates....shot...and later died in hospital.

How do we combat this issue and problem?

Do you think that the government is doing enough?

Is this the way that young people think it is cool to have a gun in their possession?

Do you think that communities should be doing more?

What must his parents be thinking?

I work with young people and hate this kind of crime. I would like to see more being done and for the problem not be swept under the carpet.

A gun amnesty might work in the short term. In the long term, more good role models for young people. Redistribute more wealth so as to lessen poverty. Communities should engage more in meetings and discussions, street activism etc. Parents should talk to their children and other children to find out their problems, how they can resolve them. More mental health provision so potentially dangerous kids susseptible to criminal behaviour can be monitered more effectively.

We need to deal with the areas of multi-generational poverty, not that this government or any government before them cares to deal with them.
