Question About Hearing Tests

I went to see the education psychologist and had a test for Dyslexia. He explaiend that he may have a problem testing me because I'm visually impaired.
Apparantely, there's nothing wrong, but my vocabulary isn't that good. (I don't read a lot)
He asked me if I've ever had a hearing test and whether I've had problems with my ears. I told him I've only had problems with blocked ears.
Anyway, how do I go about getting them tested? And what happens in the test?

I had a hearing test when i was an ickle girl, and i remember them playing beeps at different frequencies and you had to say if you could hear them. I dont know how much its changed though...
They inspected my ears and then also put me into a box with headphones on and played stuff for me and asked me to repeat the words said and boring stuff like that. I also had to push some button when I heard a sound.
The test consisted of different beeps at different tones and you had to press a button when you heard them. They then asked me to press the button when the noise was too much of my ears.
They also examined my ears and I was given my results there and then.
