Well i been at my current place of employment for over 2years, i haven't given any indication of leaving but this morning i saw a job that pays 15percent more than my current, doing a more technical subject specific at a university in london...
What's the best way of going about applying for it for myself, my current employers and my possible new ones?

Apply for it - you only need to tell your current employers if you get a new job

I've done this a couple of times, there is normally a box on the form next to the referrees saying 'can we contact these before the interview?' and I put no, because my boss didnt know I was leaving. I took time off for the interview then just gave in my notice when I got the other job.
