be-jeebus! You have to read the labels on everything these days...

not just read them but know what the ingredients mean

other solution is to have powdered vitamins or specially look for vitamins without additives which are very, very rare - hence my earlier thread about this stuff

If you read what this guys says in his answer is scary reading

I have Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil - but the liquid orange flavour one cos I'm a big kid .. :)

The whole things with additives is the need to make something in Pill form - liquid or powder form should be potentially better for you.

So are liquid capsules better than tablets?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Well you're not going to get fish oil as a solid tablet .. :eek2:

Probably the best way is a bottle of Cod Liver Oil and a spoon .. :)

Hence why I have the orange flavoured one so it don't taste so bad.

But if you can stand the taste then probably better to get the pure form - so no sugars, etc in it. There's also milk with fish oil in it but not a lot

Well, I had a look at my selection of vitamins and they had NONE of the harmful ingredients mentioned in the article. Could it be, because the website has its own agenda for selling supplements, that they are scaremongering?

Does your selection have a brand name?? If so what is it and in what form? Liquid, capsules, tablets? Don't just post a reply which is nothing more then boasting - try posting something useful and informative .. that adds to the discussion - if you have a product that might be additive free then tell us about it - don't just boast about it.

If you've being paying attention to the news, the problems with additives in Chinese Milk products .. putting chemicals used to make plastics in baby's milk should at least have turned on the light switch in your head to keep an open mind that in the real world all is not always what it seems .. The products are made by companies .. companies exist to make a profit .. sometimes the need to make money is put ahead of safety as seen in the above milk example .... if you have information that may be useful, post it - don't boast.

As for scaremongering there's plenty of news sources for that already ....
