Lost passport

I lost/had my passport stolen at the weekend.

I called the passport office and they said I need to fill out a form from the post office to declare it lost or stolen whichh is fine but I'm seriously panicking about identity theft and stuff....reassure me please?

    I've lost mine before and it's fine, just horrendously expensive. To the best of my knowledge, as long as you didn't lose cards with it, or anything with your address, the risk is reasonably minimal. Were you carrying it as ID? It's best not to if you can avoid it.
